How to Build a Better Blog Right Now

Build a better blog, blog tips

We hear it time and time again, it’s all about consistency and this is so true. It’s true with weight loss, forming habits, and it’s definitely true when it comes to building a better blog. When I don’t make it a point to get out and work away from home, I go through lulls where I find myself needing a bit of a break. That’s the thing with being an entrepreneur, no one is going to tell to get your ish together but you.

Along with consistency, there are some other things you can do to assist you in building a better blog.

Automate Your Process

More than likely you’re a woman, or man, show and time is money. Use apps and sites that will allow you to automate your process. I absolutely love Co-Schedule for assisting me with building better headlines and auto-posting my content to social sites. Co-Schedule also has a pretty cool “re-queue” feature that places your old social media content on your marketing calendar to fill in the gaps where needed. It might seem a bit pricey at $49 per month, but it’s well worth the money and they offer a 1-month trial for you to decide if it’s something that works for you.

A few other great options are Tailwind for Pinterest (which sent me a significant amount of Pinterest traffic once I started using it and you can just use the free option) and Hootsuite for seeing all of your Twitter favorites in one spot. For me, Twitter was completely overwhelming and I was missing out on content because of how fast new tweets are sent out. Hootsuite allows me to easily see the “List” I create for brands, pr agencies, and visitors centers I’m wanting to interact with.

Support a Better Blog

No one likes to be asked to have their brain picked, but that doesn’t mean they don’t like share information. There are a lot of great Bloggers out there who provide killer niche content along with tips to assist you in making your blog better. Rather than reaching out to ask them a million and one question they simply don’t have the time to answer, visit their blog and sign up for their newsletter. It’s a great way to provide support to a fellow Blogger and gain insight into building your blog into one brands take notice of.  A few of my personal favorites are Alicia Tenise, Sina, and Mattie James.

Build Better Blog Friendships

Just like school, blogging is easier, and more fun, when you’ve got someone to share it with. Because we’re online the vast majority of the time, most blog friendships are built on social media. When I first started out, I did a lot posting my content and that was it. I take that back, I WOULD respond to comments that were left by supporters, but that was really it. I didn’t visit their feeds or interact with other Bloggers … big mistake.

It’s hard to build meaningful connections when we’re not taking the time to invest in others. I started answering questions on social post, commenting on Insta Stories, and just genuinely interacting with others to show them I was interested in being apart of their community and building a meaningful relationship. It’s something you can easily work into your schedule 15 minutes in the morning, afternoon, and evening that seems so small, but makes a huge difference.

Some of these things take a bit longer to set up in the beginning, but once set take little no effort from you. Are there any other tips you’ve got to build a better blog? Please leave your suggestions in the comments. Thanks for reading!

Great tips. I’m a new blogger and soaking up information like a sponge. BTW: You’re rocking that yellow bathing suit on Instagram.
